We Have Seen His Star Matthew 2

“Now when  Jesus born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the King, behold, there came wise men from the East of Jerusalem, saying, Where is He that is born king of the Jews? for we have seen His Star in the East, and are come to worship him” Matt. 2:1-2

The wise men had seen a mysterious Light in the heavens upon that night when the glory of God flooded the hills of Bethlehem. As the light faded, a luminous star appeared and lingered in the sky. The wise men were impressed that the Star was special, and of special significance to them. The magi welcomed the light of heaven-sent truth, and they go forth to find the promised Savior. The magi welcome the heaven sent truth.

The arrival of the magi was quickly heard throughout Jerusalem. Their strange errand created an excitement among the people. Herod  suspected the priests of plotting with strangers to excite a popular tumult and unseat him from the throne. He summoned the chief priests and scribes, he questioned them as to their sacred books in regard to the place of the messiah’s birth. they declare to Herod, in Bethlehem of Judea as it was written by the prophets. Herod then invited the magi to a private interview.

The wise men follow the star that had guided them to where the baby Jesus lay. At Bethlehem they found no royal guide stationed to protect the new born bay. Jesus was cradled in a manger. His parent are His only guardians. The magi gave their hearts to Jesus as their Savior and poured out their gifts-“gold and frankincense and myrrh”-the treasures of that day, over 2000 years ago today.

Friends, Such was the Savior’s reception when the Lord Jesus came to the earth. There seems to be no place of rest or safety for the infant Redeemer. It look like God commissioned angels to attend Jesus and protect Him till He could accomplished His mission on the earth and die by the hands of those whom He came to save.

Friends, This Christmas season, as you put your Christmas lights this year:- Remember that Jesus is the true light that lighten the world; Jesus wants His light to shine for others to see through you; Give Jesus room in your heart and tell every one you meet or relate about Jesus. Let your light shine by your good works illuminating the path to God for all the world.

Merry Christmas.
