Today we live in difficult times with unrest, and in a difficult world. Listen to the media today, life is hard for many Americans. Yet, Paul says in Philippians 4:4 to “Rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS” (not for all things) ” and again I say, Rejoice”.
Paul is teaching an emotional well-being which begins with rejoicing in the Lord under any circumstances that you find yourself, do not worry. Many people often confuse happiness with joy. Happiness comes from external circumstances, and tend to fade away, depending on circumstances. while, Joy comes from within, an inside job, and is a fruit of the spirit. Paul reminds us all that Joy comes from God Almighty.
Brethren, all people have fundamental need for Joy in their lives. Life without joy is overwhelming, overburdened and could also be oppressive. My friends, while human life is a life of tragedy, sorrow, headaches and pain, yet in difficulty, one can find Joy in the Lord always, if your life belong to Almighty God, and you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. When you put you do not have to fret about small or big details of life.
Brethren, where was Paul when he was writing his epistle to the Philippians? Paul was in Roman’s prison awaiting to be executed when he was writing a positive letter, in the darkest days of his life.
Friends, Paul’s philosophy in life is “to live is Christ”–to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, especially, to the gentles (you and me). What is your purpose in life or why did God create you here to do?
If you did not know why God create you on earth, go to the Lord in prayer earnestly tonight, in your closet and ask HIM.
